Minnesota Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins today spoke of plans for his Holiday bonus.
“I have worked a lot of overtime this year, more than ever before,” Andrew Wiggins told Flack.
“The extra money will go straight to the Christmas shopping.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves and coach Tom Thibedeau have come under scrutiny this season with the coach’s rotation of players. This rotation has resulted in the starting lineup playing substantially more minutes than any other NBA lineup, and their backups hardly seeing the court. This rotation has exhausted many of his starters, increasing injury possibilities, and upsetting underused bench players.
Andrew Wiggins, along with the rest of the Timberwolves will work through the holidays, even on Christmas day. “Thibs is Scrooging us this year,” Wiggins told reporters. “I don’t want to complain, but who makes someone work on Christmas.”
Timberwolves’ forward, Wiggins, is one of the players whose minutes have drastically increased. The Canadian’s minutes are regularly above thirty-five minutes a match, sometimes edging towards forty. Coach Tom Thibodeau has described the minutes’ distribution as “necessary”. “You have to expect to work extra leading into the holiday period,” Thibodeau said. “It’s just that time of year”.
