Brad Scott told the media to expect big things from North Melbourne’s War Chest in a press conference this morning.

The club’s coach told reporters, “it is an exciting time for The North Melbourne footy club”. Scott continued, speaking on behalf of the war chest, who was noticeably quiet throughout.¬† “He has been one of our most prized assets recently. The club has decided that instead of trying to ship him off for an established player like Dustin Martin, we are going to try and develop him. It is a bold step, and one in the right direction”.
North Melbourne traded mainstay, Sam Gibson to the Adelaide Crows.
Scott continued, explaining that there will be ample opportunity for the youth to step up in 2018. “We decided against keeping some of the elder statesmen at the club in recent years. It was a difficult choice. However, we think it’s time to give some unproven players a chance. Who knows, the War Chest may even become the next Brent Harvey,¬†Drew Petrie, or Aaron Mullett. “There will be ample opportunity for the War Chest to play, potentially even with a run through the midfield. With Ben Brown, we have a centrepiece at North Melbourne to build around”.
North Melbourne will be able to add to their young players with pick four in this next month’s AFL draft.
